Japanese keyboard layout back to english without going past Welcome logon screen

So I was messing around with my computer and accdiently changed my keyboard layout to Japanese from English. I restarted my computer and now when I enter my password it will not go past this screen. I don't have the software CD to do a system restore nor do I know if you can even do a system restore in safe mode. I've tried many things and it will not work. I have a DELL Inspiron 2400 (I know its so old) and it has Windows XP Office Edition installed. Could someone please please help me!!!! How can I fix this????

If you changed the keyboard layout, the letter no longer match what you think you are typing. There should be an onscreen keyboard option so you can see what you are actually clicking though. Or try typing your password in the username field so you can see what letter as actually being used, and try to find how to type your password using the kyboard layout you set it to.
