Hey guys, I'm currently wanting to crossfire my Sapphire Radeon 7970 Vapor-X GHz Edition with another 7970, but I'm wondering if it is smart to do it with a regular 7970? It will save me about $90 to crossfire it with a regular 7970 but will that severely affect my performance in any way?

I guess another viable option could be to sell the 7970 GHz and go with a 7990?
What're your thoughts?

Thanks guys, this community has helped me a lot. :)

It will definitely work, but they will both run at the lowest clock speeds out of each of them. So if your regular 7970 is at stock clocks, your Ghz Vapor-X will only run at stock 7970 clocks unless you overclock your stock 7970 to match the Ghz Vapor-X clocks. Otherwise the only difference will be temperatures due to the coolers.
