Iv tried the pins positive negative up down left right and made my new build go from running to not booting back to fine again but the power on L.E.D still wont work, is it ok for me to just leave it?
because i nearly had a pin come out while retrying again so just pushed them back into motherboard and don't really want to risk a pin coming out completely as the front panels are obviously connected to the case
The usual reason aled does not work is that the polarity is wrong.
Sometimes the labels are reversed. Try switching + and - and see how you do.
To answer your question, your pc operation is not impacted at all if you do not connect the led leads. You just lose the visual indication that your pc is on/off/ or sleeping.
thanks got worried, yeah me and the old man thought they were labelled wrong, but like i said a pin almost came out of its socket when we pull one out so if its fine and has no impact without a front L.E.D other than the aesthetics ill just leave it just in case the pin actually breaks, and +1 this is my first build and i have a 4670k
The SPEAKER, RESET and PWRSW front panel cables have no specific orientation, while IDE_LED and PLED cables do. Usually the white wire stands for the ground pins and the color coded wire for the signal pins.
thanks ill bear that in mind in future, but ill leave it because like i said pin nearly broke, its too risky :|
