What is the difference between using an internet adapter vs using a motherboard with built in WIFI for a desktop computer?
I have a wireless router for my internet and my desktop uses a Rosewill RNX-N2X wireless adapter ( http://www.rosewill.com/products/1120/ProductDetail_Overview.htm ).
I was just wondering how this affects performance. Is the internet faster if you don't have to use an internet adapter to receive and directly have it built into your motherboard? I don't understand much about this, so any basic explanation would be great. Thank you.
