I don't know much about choosing RAM, so thanks in advance for any help or insight.

The editing rig I built in 2010 (for CS6, Lightroom, multitasking - no gaming) is feeling old, so I'm hoping to add pep by going to 16GB, the max for the MB. It's a Gigabyte H57M-USB3, SATA3, with an i7-860, 128GB SSD boot drive and 4x2GBs of this G.Skill RAM.

Would you choose 2x8GB or 4x4GB modules for this upgrade? Does it matter? And for what I do, will there be a noticeable difference between DDR3-1600 and 1333? (Not overclocking, so should I even care about timings and latency?)

Thanks for any advice.

Best,

Mark

For 16GB, your mobo max need to go 4x4GB (unless they've played with the BIOS to run 8GB sticks, which haven't seen anything about), I'd take a look at the Snipers F3-12800CL9Q-16GBSR, or the Ares F3-1600C9Q-16GAB, both are 4x4GB 1600/9 sets

Thanks for your responses...

Hadn't considered that a four-slot MB with a 16gb max would also mean a 4gb limit per slot. Very helpful, Tradesman. And thanks for the links.
