Am I going to notice a difference going from a 7770 to a 7850?

You will see a difference, and it should be fairly large. Something like a 7870 GHz or a 7950 would be even greater, but they are more pricey. I would say if you can, wait for the 9000 series to release, and see how those cards turn out, and the 7000 series would drop in price too. If not, that is still a worthwhile investment.

It would be more along the lines of 200-220 seeing as its 260 at the moment for a 7950. It would probably be along that time frame though. The 9000 series is also rumored to have a flagship gpu to rival the GTX Titan, so something from that may be more worth while. It comes down to on a budget the 7850 is good, if you can hold out on a budget then a price drop, or if you have the cash and the cpu to support it a 9000 series.
