I will doing things like Java, as I am entering university for computer science, but also game design like UDK. I also will be doing 1080p gaming, but I want the GPU to last me a few years. I also forgot to mention, that I live in Canada, so some prices are more expensive for me, and some products are unavailable for me, like that LEPA PSU.

ok first drop down to a i5 4670k because java is noturious for not multi threading well and get the best cooler you can afford to over clock it as much as possible second for aplication that suport aceleration via open cl amd cards are a much better deal so check if the programs you are using suport this other then that a tx650 is a much better deal

I forgot to mention that I would prefer a modular power supply. Also, I assume I will be doing other languages soon, and the programs will probably get more intensive over the next few years, and I would like this PC to last me a while. Would you still suggest going down to the i5-4670k?

Thanks for all of the feedback guys!

I'm not sure if I got a good MB, and chose a good distributor of the GTX 770. Any recommendations? I've heard that ASUS products are good, but have bad customer service if they break.

The ASUS card is fine, and the motherboard looks like amazing quality.

Is the motherboard overkill for my build?

Yeah, but it provides a solid upgrade path for the future.

What do you mean? And what if the intel socket changes?

I'm saying that it has Triple PCIE slots. That should be great if you ever want to SLI.

I also like how it has Wifi built in so I don't have to buy and add on card.

I don't mind spending the money (around $100) for a mechanical keyboard, as I hope it will last me for a while.

I would like to have backlighting and media keys, and having macros would be nice, but macros arn't required. I am not familiar with the different of key switches as I have never had a mechanical keyboard before. With that being said, I think I would like the keyboard to be quiet, as it may get a little annoying, but some tactile feedback would be nice. I assume tactile feedback means that you feel when the key is pressed down. For mechanical keyboards, if there is no tactile feedback, how much do you have to press down the keys for it to register?

I was also wondering how I should setup my hard drives. I was thinking that I would have two 2TB hard drives and either RAID 1 them, or user windows backup. But then I thought I could maybe to RAID 5 with three 1TB drives. Which would you guys suggest? Just so I'm clear, the way RAID 5 works is that it basically stripes and mirrors at the same time, so I would get a slight speed increase, and have redundancy of the files, should a hard drive fail. And with three 1TB drives would I have 2TB usable?

Also, should I RAID 0 my boot drive? I was planning on getting the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD which has 540MB/s read and 520 MB/s write and for 4KB random read 100,000 IOPS and write 90,000. If I was to RAID 0 the boot drive, I would do two Samsung Pro 128GB SSD. They have 530MB/s read and 390MB/s write and read 97,000 IOPS and write 90,000 IOPS.

It would cost me $250 to get the 256GB and $280 to get the two 128GB.
Which would be more advantageous, to do the single 256GB or the RAID 0 128GB?
