Im afraid to overclock. Is it a must?

I have never overclocked my cpu, gpu, well anything. Im getting ready to build a new gaming only PC and am curious how necessary overclocking really is to run games at full settings. Is it a must?

Running games at full settings is more GPU dependent than anything, so if you are afraid to overclock and you're soon to be building a dedicated gaming PC, I suggest you research into acquiring a graphics card that can run the full settings without being overclocked.
