My current build
Intel DH61WW Motherboard
4 gb ram
nvidia geforce 9800
Core i5 processor
250w PSU

After upgrading my rig will be
The same Processor
same ram
Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7770 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card: Graphics Card
500w PSU

will there be any problem if i use the same motherboard with an 7770 gpu or i have to upgrade it to a crossfire supported board?

You only need a Crossfire ready board if you plan on running two GPU's in a Crossfire configuration. As long as your board supports that GPU by itself you should be fine without the Crossfire support.
The manufacturer's website will usually provide a compatibility list somewhere. If it doesn't, you'll probably find one on their forums somewhere.
