Hey guys, as the title says I have recently ordered and assembled a new computer, but I am having some issues. This is my first build.

I followed multiple video tutorials and guides and felt competent, but when I power on the PC the monitor won't turn on. When I press the power on the monitor manually it just says "No Signal". I'm using an HDMI cable.

But, when I do power it on, the gpu/cpu fans, system fans, and tower lights come on and my keyboard/mouse appear to have power.
I'm confused and don't know if this issue is my fault or a component is faulty.

What I've tried to do to fix it:
Checked each ram piece individually
Replugged everything, made sure things were secure
Tried different PCI-E slots for the gfx card

The only thing I felt like I messed up on was after I seated my heatsink. A few minutes afterward I felt like readjusting it cause it didn't feel right and when I pulled it up the cpu came with it (palm to face deff happened). The cpu didn't look like it had any bent pins though, and I reseated it.

I've followed the troubleshoot tutorial (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems) but couldn't find anything that would be causing this issue. I don't have a motherboard speaker, but I just ordered one -- so that's in the works so I can attempt to diagnose the problem that way.

Any help would be appreciated!

sorry the whole lifting the cpu out of the socket is a little weird considering you have to latch it in..anyway you made sure the video card you have has the correct pci-e plugs plugged into it, made sure that the hdmi cable you are using is a known good working one, made sure you latched your cpu in, made sure you have your cpu power and mobo power plugged in, and correctly (sometimes people don't read thier manual on how to correctly plug in the cpu power plugs aka where the clips go), checked to see if the hdmi is working correctly on your monitor by using lets say a dvd player through hdmi to check, and for a final easy check, is your harddrive plugged in with a sata and anything else is missing it and if any of the power cables wiggle.

Yes, the hdmi cord is going to the graphics card. I don't think I can connect it to the mobo with this one.

@HilBillyAsian:

It freaked me out. It was latched in but I wasn't expecting that much of a hold between both the cpu and the heatsink. I read that I should just slowly turn back and forth till it comes off instead of pulling..lol.

-I used the PCI-E plugs that came with the PSU. Should I try different ones?
-I use the hdmi cable daily with my laptop. Should I try a DVI cable?
-The CPU is latched in. I just pulled the lever down and it's held at the bottom.
-The CPU power plugs are plugged in correctly. They can only go in 1 way with the clips.
-HDMI cable is working
-HDD/SSD are both plugged in (sata cables to mobo, the other one to the psu)
