Hello everyone,

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R with an i5 2450M CPU and a 1GB Nvidia GT525M GPU.
When i touch the laptop it feels really hot, even if i'm just on facebook.

I downloaded Speccy so i can check the actual temperatures. When i only have firefox running, nothing else, the temps are 57-63 degrees celsius for the cpu, 53c-55c for the gpu, 59c-62c for the mobo and 50c-55c for the hdd. I am not an expert, but i think these temps are high.

Any advice? Are these temps normal?

Thank you.

All mobile devices will have temperature problems. These are normal after long usage. Pretty much there is nothing to do about it, but connect it to a usb fan cooler. Even that won't work well though. Laptops are poorly vented not designed for extended periods of time.

Anything over 60c is probably not good, but then again I've seen computers hit 70-80c. Once it hits it's thermal threshold it'll automatically shut off as a safety.

It's normal.
