problem with windows xp

Hello, I have a problem with my windows xp. When system loads up, windows xp screen appears and it loads for hours and doesnt start. another problem is when i press F8 , i cant scroll up with UP and DOWN buttons to Last known configuration or To Safe mode even my keyboards works perfectly via F2.
I really need Your help, thanks.

Hard drive failures are uncommon.
The system is at least trying and you can see a BIOS screen, also encouraging.
Start by resetting the BIOS, either by removing the battery or using the reset jumper-check the motherboard manual.
Next try another keyboard.
