Guys I have an onborad VGA at the moment, and i am switching to a GTS 450 but i have never installed a seperate GPU, so i have absolutely no knowledge how to do it. therefore a step by step guide would be appreciated.

I want to know how to insert the hardware and how to install the new GPU in windows. [should i first disable the onboard VGA before plugging in the GTS 450 or after doing everything?]

please make sure you state a tutorial for GTS 450 if you can, do i have to give external powersupply??

cheers :D

You see the PCI-E x16 slot on your MOBO, line up the the GPU with it and push it in, it should make a click. And it depends what GPU you have (gts 450 isn't specific enough) some of them need 6+2 pci-e power cables, some don't. And it disables the motherboard's VGA ports automatically.
