Dell optiplex 745 best CPU upgrade for me

I have a dell optiplext 745 mt with the copper cpu cooler
Ram-4GB DDR2 (different frequencys)
OS-Windows 7 32-bit.
vidio card- PNY Gtx 650 2GB
PSU-Rosewill 500w
current CPU-Intel pentium E2160 1.8Ghz

What is the best CPu i could buy that would work with this computer (links are apreatiated)

hmmm, i know that the core 2 duo e6700 will work. same with the c2d e6600.

some people say they have gotten the core 2 quad q6600/6700 and the qx6700 (although the chipset doesnt officially support it)

you can try the core 2 quad q6600 you will need to get a copper heatsink for it too, but if that is too expensive, then i say get the core 2 duo e6700 or the c2d e6600.

Hello,

I have the same model Dell 745 with CPU D3.0

In my computer when I put new memories,2x2GB not recognize them correctly, only recognize 1x1GB on the two slot!

Anyone know why?

i can confirm i put a q6600 g0 revision cpu in mine (with copper heatsink) of course i did also a bios update before hand because i also put a hd 6570 in it mine was the mini-tower version (the biggest one)
