I am searching for a good SSD with good performance and lifespan for my laptop.

I want an SSD under $200.
Here are the two SSD's i found to be in my budget and also good in performance.

Muskin chronos deluxe 240GB

http://www.amazon.com/Mushkin-Chronos-Deluxe-2-5-Inch-MKNSSDCR240GB-DX/dp/B0057VOVE8

Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-7TE250BW/dp/B00E3W1726/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1378049019&sr=1-5&keywords=830+256gb

This SSD will be my system drive only. I also have a 750GB hard drive for mass storage, so this is not going to be my only drive.

OR is there any other good SSD under$200 price mark that i should consider?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Both of your choices are highly rated by THG: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-recommendation-benchmark,3269-3.html

Personally, I prefer Samsung's offerings.

Scroll down the page. The EVO is in there! Here is another EVO report: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/samsung-840-evo-review-1tb-ssd,3567.html

As far as power consumption is concerned, for a desktop, I wouldn't worry about it. For a laptop, eh, maybe.

What are you putting it into?

EDIT: I see in your OP that it is a laptop. The EVO has the better power consumption numbers. Look in the first link that I gave you.

for EVO
The first link shows seq read/write 530mb/390mb
and the second link shows seq read/write 540mb/520mb

which should i consider???

I don't know. That is a question for the authors of the articles.

ok.. 1 more thing, second link says EVO has 19nm toggle NAND.. As far as i know toggle NAND is the fastest
and it says three bit per cell, i dont know what that means either.
Any info on what NAND, what size does Mushkin have? m starting to think that EVO would be better bcoz of its low power consumption but if there is going to be a noticeable performance decrease with EVO over Mushkin, then i want mushkin.. is there a lot of difference between performance of the two drives?? which has a longer life span?

If you want the BEST performance, then get the Samsung 840 PRO. The PRO versions top all of the performance charts. The PRO also has a 5 year warranty whereas the EVO warranty is 3 years. IDK about Mushkin's warranty.

But 840 pro costs are out of my budget, that's why trying these SSD's. Are there any other brands or any other SSD's from these brands which fit in $200 budget and perform better or hav a longer life span? I am asking about the life span again and again bcoz i wont be having a backup drive in my laptop so just want to make sure my data stays secure as long as possible..

I just found another Mushkin review: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/mushkin-chronos-ssd_2.html#sect0

As far as which one will last the longest, my opinion, and this is strictly OPINION, is that the Mushkin would last longer than the EVO because Mushkin uses toggle mode DDR while the EVO uses triple level nand. The EVO write 3 bits per cell while Muskin only uses 2. Given that flash memory has a finite number of read/write cycles, it appears to me that the EVO is stressing each cell 33.33% more than Mushkin. This is why the PRO drives have a 5 year warranty and the EVOs have a 3 year warranty. BTW, Mushkin's warranty is also 3 years. If it makes any difference, the Mushkin drives are made in the USA.
