We have to wait to see the actual performance level of the 9000 series, but the 9970 is shooting for the GTX 780/Titan level. We do know that they won't be available for purchase until October and the 9970 will be about $600. The 9950 will probably be much more expensive than the GTX 770. It will probably come with a free copy of BF4.

You can also count on Nvidia price drops and even new Nvidia cards to be released around the time that the 9000 series is released.

There is no indication that AMD on consoles will mean that games will suddenly start working better on AMD cards. There are many reasons for this, but one of the best reasons is to look at current titles supposedly optimized for AMD which don't necessarily perform better in benchmarks; sometimes Nvidia cards even perform better.
Of course, on the flipside there are also several highly anticipated titles forthcoming, including some from your list, that will be optimized for Nvidia, including even some featuring GPU-accelerated PhysX: Call of Duty-Ghosts (PhysX), Splinter Cell Blacklist (TXAA, HBAO+, Phong Tesselation), XCOM-The Bureau Classified (PhysX), Witcher 3 (PhysX), Assassin's Creed 4 (TXAA), Batman Arkham City (PhysX), and Watch Dogs.

Depending on your immediate needs, the best plan is to wait one month for the 9000 series to be announced, then wait another month to see how much they cost, what their availability is, and how much impact they have on the pricing of their Nvidia counterparts. If you can't wait two months, then a GTX 770 will serve you well regardless of how high the bar is set this autumn. And you will be guaranteed to be able to make the most of BF4 as well as some of the unique features on some of the other upcoming titles.
