Hello everyone,

I want to connect two PC's to two Monitors and in such a way that the two monitors are interlinked. Basically I want to connect 1 PC to first monitor and connect the 2 PC to second Monitor which are easy to do and then finally I want to interlink the two monitors. I want to interlink the monitors in such a way that I can jump from one monitor to another monitor by just using one mouse and one keyboard.

Cheers

For instance...for communicating with or controlling my HTPC, I use TeamViewer. I can bring up the other PC desktop on the right monitor, and have my local desktop on the left.
I use this daily to start/manage movies playing on the big screen.

For moving files back and forth, a shared folder does the trick. Share out a particular folder on the HTPC, and map that folder to a drive letter on the main PC. Anything i need to move to the HTPC, I just copy to the M(movies) drive. Anything I need to move the other way, just place it somewhere in the shared folder tree, and it is available on the "M" drive.
Yes, public folders or Windows Homegroups would work as well.

Thank you for your reply. I have two desktops and two monitors. All I have to do is to control both the desktops with just one mouse and one keyboard. And also I will be transferring data from one desktop to the other and the process should be fast. Can you please recommend which software would be really worth using and faster??

Cheers

This capability is built into windows. Even easier if one of the computers supports 2 displays. Just about any graphics card can do that these days.

Computer 1 -- Monitor 1 + Monitor 2
Computer 2 -- Monitor 2

Computer 1: Main Desktop is Monitor 1, Open a Remote Desktop session into Computer 2 and open that display on Monitor 2. (Start -> Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection)

Computer 2 can then be disconnected from Monitor 2 except when you need to get into the BIOS for something.

File sharing can be done by normal windows shared drives.

The benefit here is your main desktop always has use of 2 monitors.
