Compatibility for Upgrade

Title pretty much says it all. I'm looking to upgrade my video card and was wondering if my ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 motherboard is compatible with the HIS IceQ H787Q2G2M Radeon HD 7870 card.

Yes they're compatible, however the 7870 is PCI-E 3.0 compatible, and the board only has 2.0 slots. So you won't be maxing out the performance capabilities of the card at all. You might as well get something PCI-E 2.0 and save a couple bucks, in my opinion, unless you're planning a system upgrade in the near future.
