I am looking for a paid antivirus program that has the best protection for Windows 8 while still staying light and not causing system lag. I have discovered that these three antivirus software suites are consistently the top rated among all others. So among these three which one has the least amount of impact on the system while at the same time providing the best protection. However, the biggest thing I am concerned about is which one is the best for gamers.

Windows 8 has a built in anti-virus that's very lightweight and very good. As long as you don't go around installing executables from random sites you'll be fine. The best anti-virus is a smart user.

Any antivirus program is fine, the important that you must update your av program regularly. I used Kaspersky before and in my opinion, it was good but it caused my pc slow down :( (I used windows 8 then and still using it now)

Alright then, what are the best free antivirus programs? I have heard that Avast! and Window's built in security are pretty good. I have also heard that you can design your own protection using free versions. How would I do this?
