Hi, I am wondering if this is a good start up build for me. As you can tell I am only 13 so money is tight. I have only $500 to spend.($600 with the os) So will this meet my needs of running games at 40 frames and up on 1080p at custom high medium quality settings? Games like bf3, sad to say but cod, and lol, far cry 3 etc? Also, since the title says "starting" I would like it to be able to upgrade. I want to join the PC gaming community because it interests me that games as old as cs 1.6 still have a lot of people playing because of fun mods. Not the bad kind. I am a fan of skyrim because of the sheer plethora of available mods myself also the fallout games offer a bunch of playtime and can regularly be bought for about 5 - 7.50 with all dlc when on sale.

Also borderlands 2 is about to have a GotY edition come out which hopefully won't be to high, I would prefer not to say how many hours I have logged on that game.

For a starter build it looks great, just keep in mind you will need an OS for it to run although i'm sure you can just come across a spare copy of windows 7 somewhere.

I myself am not a fan of raidmax's PSUs (nothing personal, just had a friends go out on him once with sparks) and for 5 more after rebates i'd consider

I have never had a problem out of thermaltakes psu's and they come with a 5 year warranty just in case.

Also if you are wanting in the "community" then, for better or for worse, you might want to invest in a headset.

My real budget is $600 but since windows 7 64bit takes up $99 I just wanted to make it more focused on the hardware. But thanks. I have a question, since WiFi adapters are not as good for gaming, can I buy a wireless repeated to help out?

the repeater will only extend the signal and make it as if you were closer to a source but if the source is still slow or if there is interference the repeater will do little to mitigate it. If possible i'd recommend a wired connection seeing is this is a desktop.

How would wired do it? I have a wireless modem but my dad uses it plugged in. Do I sit next to him playing games to plug it in too? Lol sorry about this weird question. Or do I buy a wireless adapter and use a spare Ethernet cable I find and plug it in?

So I guess the games I'd be playing online is minecraft and bf3.. I'm scared of lag in bf3 so will mostly be buying not a lot of online games, so which would you coNsider? Dishonored - Far cry 3 - Skyrim with about 3 mods?

Then with the modems that comcast provides you should have at least 4 wired connections as well as it should function as a wireless gateway.

also try using internet in the southern parts of NA, it literally takes me 50 mins for a single gb
