I'd like to make sidebar gadgets into a static like desktop icon, separated from sidebar of course. How can i do this. I don't want to make them "ontop of other windows", i'd like to make them like a desktop icon, a static item on the screen, obviously with the options button and exit button when you scroll over the gadget. I have Vista 64 bit.

Gadgets have been discontinued in Widows for quite a while. Too much of a security risk. Basically, they were tiny html pages.

You write one, I like it and install it, you then change the content to whatever you want...delivering something weird to my screen.

i only use one gadget, the add gadget cpu meter, showing core usage and memory usage. It's essential. I don't use any other gadgets, if i do i'll just use the official microsoft ones.
