If a website is complex or it is receiving a large number of visitors, then a single server will struggle to cope.
In this small example a second could be added, but how do the two (or more) seperate servers do the same job?, how do they access the same data?, how do they decide which server serves which client?
In a larger example (hundreds of servers) do the same principles apply or does something different happen?
