So, I just roughly put together a system of what I want. (very rough)
Things like keyboard/mouse/wi-fi adapter plz just ignore. I don't care for advice on them

What about the core of the computer, CPU/cooler/PSU/GPU etc.
What would you change? (preferably for the cheaper if I can get ~equal value)

What would you consider a necessary change?
I really was aiming for a 1k build, but after monitor and such it ended up more.
And considering the new GPU's are coming out roughly soon, I will probably rethink my current choice.
(I'd like to work on this build until December, then purchase it, or earlier if I can afford and new GPUs are out)

My concerns:
Motherboard - went cheap here, so I may need to look for something better
CPU cooler - I have no idea what I'm doing in this area, I just picked a highly rated one
Storage - Worth it to get an SSD along with a normal one?
Sound - Will this be a quiet machine ( can deal with the noise, but quiet is better )
OS - Not familiar with windows 8, wondering If I should just go with 7 since I know it. And I've heard little rumors that windows 8 has some compatibility issues with some games.
Power Supply - Not sure how to pick the best one for a custom build.

Do you intend to overclock?
If no: No need for a "K" series CPU - or a CPU cooler, for that matter...but the Core i5 3570K is a good choice no matter what.
If yes: You need a "Z77" series motherboard - for this, you'll be spending at least $100. Otherwise, there isn't much point to getting the 3570K, might as well go for a Core i3 or the i5 3350p.

Otherwise, an i5-3570K / GTX 760 system is a good system, should get you through everything at 1080p (even if it is a bit overkill, but that's OKAY! Gives you a good start towards the future, and if you're spending money you might as well get the latest). I agree with the wireless - it's nice to have, just don't game online with it if possible, too many dropped packets :)

Also, I HIGHLY recommend an SSD if you can fit one in. You'll notice the difference.

As MercJ stated, you are either wasting money on getting an unlocked processor and a cpu cooler or not spending enough on your motherboard.
However, I would NOT touch the i3 at this price.
Also, there is nothing wrong with Windows 8. Most games should support Windows 8 by now.

There is definitely places you can save money on, but you need to let us know if you're overclocking or not.
Also, do you plan to SLI?

Overclocking is something I WOULD like to try, but it's new to me.
So, different motherboard is the answer. What would you recommend?

Changed motherboard so it's overclockable.
Cheaper ram.
Cheaper, but bigger psu. Don't worry, Seasonic is one of the best psu brands, so it's definitely high quality.
