Just doing some research beyond reviews from Newegg, would like feedback and opinions as I'm looking to upgrade my MB and can't decide which of these two would be better:

SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 - $190
CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z - $240

My current M5A78L-M LX PLUS is becoming frustrating for me. I need more SATA ports and onboard USB ports, plus I want to double my current RAM to 16GB.

I've always had my eye on the Crosshair V, admittedly mainly because I love the color scheme.

My real question is it worth the extra $50 over the Sabertooth? They both have very similar features and number of ports/slots.

I'm also looking for reliability and performance for video editing and gaming.

Thanks!

Other than the color (I love the color scheme of the ROG mobos also) unless the Formula has specific features or a feature you need, there is no real compelling reason to head there (however, if the money is available in your budget, it never hurts to go with something you like the looks of as long as it meets your requirements and will perform well, which this mobo obviously will....so, if the moneys there, I'd say go for it....that's what I did with my Z87 Maximus VI Hero, I could have gotten a step lower mobo wise, but like the Hero

Thank you for the feedback! I guess I shall go for the Sabertooth and wait to get a ROG MB for my true production/gaming build.
