Another build... Yeah, I'm noob at building gaming setups, but I need to know 1) if this build is good for gaming*, and 2) what modifications/tips would make this build cheaper? Btw, I like the peripherals, but if there's a better headset out there for a decent price, I might change my mind... BUT, I will NOT change the Razer equipment anything but Razer (since the Ouroboros looks so freakin' awesome and the Anansi is one of the best out there]! And for the BitFenix case... I just call this build Ninja's Bane for no reason, but, once again, if there is a nicer looking case with good enough cooling, please suggest it!

*Games/Programs I will be using:
Minecraft (shocker!)
FRAPS (while playing games)
Planetside 2
Battlefield 4
Starcraft II
Star Conflict
DotA 2
World of Warcraft? (maybe...)

No operating system because I was thinking of Ubuntu

Don't worry about the monitor, I already have one

Assume that the games will be playing at either 1920x1080 or 1680x1050

P.S. I want to maximize this build for the best performance at a decent price. The video card+cpu bring it's 3DMark score up to 7720, so I'd prefer keeping them, but then again, I'm not too good at creating gaming setups

P.S.S. I will be overclocking this machine

P.S.S.S. I don't have a Power Supply, so if someone could direct me to a good one, that'd be nice

EDIT: Oooo! I was thinking about getting a liquid CPU cooler, but considering how expensive they come, I decided not to add one to my build... yet...

I trust Razer more than any other company out there when it comes to Peripherals (except for headsets :p). Even though I may be starting out, if I'm going to get these Peripherals later anyways, why not get them now?

EDIT: My mind is also very "graphical design" oriented, so the cooler things look, the better (as long as the quality is good, at least)

There are MUCH better quality products than RAZER. You are paying for the name, NOT quality.

For $100 you can get a coolermaster MECHANICAL keyboard which will blow the keyboard you have there away.

Also, that mouse is ridiculous. For less money you can get a better quality mouse. Look at Corsair for some amazing mice.

Because they are expensive and it's going to reduce the performance of your computer since you're buying it. It'll be a different story if you're willing to ditch the expensive Razer brand.
Additionally, Razer products are all expensive for what they are. Especially the Razer Anansi, which is known to be expensive and have keys fail.

Go to the bottom of my first post at the P.S.S.S. :p

What motherboard would you suggest?

I messed up. I meant to put the Lycosa down, not the Anansi :p

The link is why I chose this keyboard

The mouse is understandable, yes, but I like it for it's look and the hardware customizability. It is able to switch between wired and wireless and you can attach "finger support". As for the Anansi, I messed up and was supposed to add the Lycosa.

Alright. Thanks for the peripheral advice, guys, but the build is posted mainly for the desktop itself

EDIT: When I say build, btw, I mean the computer itself and not the other stuff. Therefore, my first post says it all. Afterall, in the end, it doesn't matter which peripherals I get if the build itself can't even run the games I posted

Any specific models?

That's an opinion-based choice. Perhaps I don't like the sound of mechanical keyboards...

Still, a non-mech board for $100 makes ZERO sense. It will feel identical to a $15 Walmart keyboard. I promise. Save yourself the headache of realizing you sent $100 mechanical keyboard money on some LEDs.

The mouse is cool but there are better performing mice for less money. I have a Corsair Vengeance M95 and I love it. I have used the mouse you want and I can say the m95 feels better and the button placement is much better.

Why waste money on overpriced keyboard/ mouse when you could get better hardware instead?

Just stay away from the CX line from Corsair and everything else is great.

Although true, I still don't like the sound of mechanical keyboards. Just found out the Razer doesn't support the keyboard anymore, though, so I'm not thinking about going through with that. Although I don't like the mechanical sound, would the Razer BlackWidow work? (Oh no! Another Razer product!) ;)

The Corsair Vengence looks nice. Thanks for the advice! The Ouroboros was mainly an impulse buy

Here's my recommendation:

-Better quality motherboard. Allows for crossfire/SLI if you ever choose to do so and overclocks much better.
-Double'd your HDD space.
-Better quality case. With the Corsair 500R, there's no need for aftermarket fans.
-Great deal on a great Seasonic psu.
-Left room for keyboard and headset.

The logitech keyboard posted above is a great non-mech keyboard. Another one to consider is the Raptor K30:
http://www.corsair.com/gaming-peripherals/gaming-keyboards/raptor-k30-gaming-keyboard.html

It's a bit more expensive but it's a great non-mech keyboard with programmable keys and 3 levels of red backlighting.

Why? That's more money and I probably won't even use that much space

How about the ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0? And what's wrong with the G43? It has the chipset and it's cheaper, too

Why? The GTX 760 is not only more expensive than the HD 7950, but it also has a lower 3DMark score by 740

The gtx760 outperforms the 7950 in pretty much all places. Generally by a noticeable amount of FPS. 3DMark score doesn't mean anything.

The MSI board has no heatsinks on the VRMs so it overheats and catches fire. Get this board: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-970DS3&c=CJ

The CX line form Corsair is not good quality. Everything else the make is, though. Stay away from the CX units. The PSU is EASILY the post important part of a computer. If you buy a cheap one and it fails, it can ruin ALL the rest of your parts.

A 1tb HDD is only $3 more expensive than a 500gb HDD. Double the storage for only $3, definitely worth it.

At your budget, you're able to fit in a 990FX/990X motherboard in there, which overclocks better than any of the 970 chipset motherboards.

The GTX 760 is stronger than the 7950. You can't really judge a graphics card by it's 3dmark score because the 3dmark score is determined by the whole computer itself, not just the gpu.

I'm diggin' it... The keyboard (Raptor K30) is nice and the case is cool! Is it possible to get it even cheaper? Perhaps a mech keyboard may not be too bad if it'll really improve gameplay

I see your point... I did a bit more research and you're completely right. Sorry for doubting you...
