I have a pavillion dv6 HP laptop, I did a system restore to get it back to factory settings.
It got to 99% and then the screen went black and would'nt come back on. I shut down the computer manually, waited and them turned it on. i got the x:windows\system32\cmd.exe message.

I do NOT have a disk as my computer model has everything supposedly built in.
It is also out of warranty so no chance of any help from the manufacturer.

How do I solve this issue?

I have tried codes like CHKDSK and rstriu.exe but nothing is working.

How expensive is this going to be if I take it to a repair centre?

Thankyou that got me away from the system 32 message. Just wondering, is the reason I have reset to factory settings why I have lost windows 7?

Something went wrong when trying to do a factory restore.

What was it doing before this(why did you want to factory restore in the first place?)?

If you have not already, as soon as you get the system running, You should make backup CD/DVD's with the included HP software in case a hardware problem caused this issue in the first place.
