I'd originally bought a 2gb 770, now I'm getting a third display and wanting to do gaming on multi-display. The 2gb isn't going to be enough to keep a smooth FPS in newer games, so will it be worthwhile/possible to SLI my current with the 4gb model?

Hopefully I'm not out the $400 I spent and needing two 4gbs :|

Nope, doesn't work. SLI mirrors stuff in the memory to both cards, so a game that takes 1.5GB will take 1.5GB from each card, so no matter how many cards you put together you have the maximum effective memory of the lowest card.

Anyways 2GB is still viable for multi monitor, Crysis 3 Ultra with 2x SMAA barely goes over 2GB at 5760x1080. 2GB vs 4GB even in multi monitor use doesn't really make much of a difference, I can't seem to find the review site that proved this though.

While it is possible to SLI them you will still only have 2Gb of usable vram.
