New to high powered Wifi solutions. I was planning on buying this
http://www.amazon.com/TL-ANT2424B-Directional-Parabolic...

However, I have no idea how I go about getting this hooked up to a computer. I just now broke my Alfa AWUS036NHR, and it appears that's what I would have needed to hook that antenna up to it.

Can someone send me the items I would need to buy to get this working correctly, possibly with an explanation if necessary?

A antenna is just that it a analog device. You would need a adapter much like you mentioned and a adapter to convert the n connector to rp-sma

The largest issue is that device you mentioned is for indoor use and does not like to get wet. You can get outdoor bridge devices that directly hook to the back of the antenna. Things like ubiquiti bullet have been around for years.

What has been happening lately is manufactures are selling antenna with built in electronics for about the price of just the antenna. Ubiquiti seems to be the cheaper ones for something like their airgrid systems. Depends on the band and how much DB you want but well under $75 in most cases.
