Upgrading my computer soon and I'm now looking at rams..

Was originally considering G.Skill RipJawX vs Corsair Dominator Plat, both 2x8gb 2133 cl9.

But I've been reading around and it seems like the Corsairs don't really have much difference from the ripjaws even though corsair's running voltage is lower...so I've pretty much decided on the ripjaws. Helps that they're a lot cheaper.

Which brings me to my question - the 2400 cl11 version of the ripjawx costs just a little more than the 2133 cl9 version...but will there be a difference?

As I understand it, lower cl numbers a better while higher clock speeds are better, if that's the clock speed.

Is the 2400 cl11 version worth the extra $20?

Solution

Then there is no point in getting RAM above 1866MHz. Just not worth the cost and sacrificed CAS latency.

If you are not using the on board graphics then you should not consider it an APU.
