Antivirus 4 XP

Hi, Pls suggest an free version antivirus prog for below mentioned system details.
Processor : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.00GHz ;
RAM: 248 RAM
HDD :40 GB
OS: XP sp2

Almost all Antivirus require 512 MB RAM; So i'm in need of a freeware antivirus which runs on 248 MB RAM.... pls help

microsoft security esentials, bitdefender free edition, avg free, avast free, avira free, spybot S&D... it's all I know, and I don't know about the requirement of ram though. personally I use, bitdefender free ed. for the rest of my pcs, because it's too simple and it can be deactivated quickly, and has almost 0 ads. rarely appear a message ad. doesn't have firewall.

I don't think there are any anti-virus clients that could run on a PC with those specifications. Your best option would be to upload the suspected software to an online virus checker.

The best thing to do is just upgrade the system to a gig or more of RAM, for that older system it is almost free. Having SP2 is also bad for security, you should install SP3 and make sure you have eveything else updated. XP on 512MB of RAM is very slow, on 256 it will be almost unusable even with nothing else running.
