Hello, I'd like to ask you if it would be possible to OC my CPU to at least 4.0 GHz. I'm a beginner, I've never overclocked anything, so I want to ask before doing anything, I know there are a lot of experienced people here who owned the same CPU. My specs are:

CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz
GPU: GTX 560
Motherboard: Gigabyte ga-ep45-ds3p
PSU: LC Power LC6600 v2.2 Black Giant
RAM: Kingston HyperX 6 GB 400 MHz DDR2
Primecooler PC-AS12025L12-4BL
Bios version 2.4
Thanks for all answers :)

Yes it would be safe, that motherboard should be able to get you to 4Ghz depending on the quality of your e8400 chip.

I am not able to find a reliable review for the PSU so I will advise you to think about a different power supply before you do any overclocking.

If you can't hit 4GHz, you should be able to get close. If you are new, then I suggest doing a lot of reading before you start. You should know what you are doing before you even try. (Meaning you should be able to rattle off your needed settings and know what they are before you change anything in your bios.) I didn't read all of this but from what I skimmed this should be a good place to start.
