Hello

I have an Alienware aurora computer which i bought a couple of years ago. It has always worked perfectly.

Problem is: Yesterday i took the BIOS battery out of the mainboard because i needed it for testing on another computer i got.

Stupid me didn't think about that DELL might have put values inthere.

So when i put the battery back and boots the computer i get BS when it tries to load Windows 7 64-bit. (cant say the error, reboots to fast)

Can someone help me? might it be pre-configure ram values or something?

Thanks

My spec is:

Alienware Aurora (R3) : negro mate 875W chasis 1

Processor : Intel Core i7-2600k (3,40GHz, caché L3 de 8MB, 8N) 1
Memory : 6GB (2x2GB + 2x1GB) 1333MHz doble canal memoria 1
Hard Drive : 500GB Serial ATA (7200RPM) 1
Graphics Cards : 2x 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SLI
Audio Integrated HDA 7.1 Dolby Digital capability 1
Operating System : Spanish Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT) 1

Solution
Most likely cause is the sata settings in bios, try setting it to either AHCI or IDE. If you install your OS when set to IDE it will not work with AHCI (and vice versa)

Thanks. I did move around in the BIOS a good deal yesterday, but i did not see any field where i could change AHCI or IDE. but then again i didnt really search for it.

I will try that when i get home later. I just noticed theres no mainboard specs on the computer description.. i'll check it aswell and update it later/tomorrow.

Might be called sata operation mode, but it varies for different manufacturers

Thank you! It worked. on my motherboard it was set too: RAID, and I had the option to change it to AHCI and it loaded windows again :)
