New Laptop: Can't see mSATA drive?

The following question has been copied from the Laptops and Notebooks forum and I am posting it to the Storage forum at the OP's request. See this thread for more background details: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1785937/question-mssd-laptop.html#xtor=EPR-8809

"I just bought a new HP Laptop with a 24 GB MSSD.

"I had few questions about the MSSD,
1] Why I cannot see this drive in My Computer?? Is this drive not accessible?
2] How to check if my OS is installed on this drive?
3] Finally, How can I install new things on this drive, How can we see if any space is left and how to use it beneficially?

"Please help cause I am a newbie to this and thanks for your help."

Solution
1: its being used as a cache drive for the hdd so no you cant see it.
2: Its not so there's no need to check.
3: You can't without disabling the cache function. Disabling the cache function would require you to reinstall windows to the msata ssd and then all your programs to the hdd. This isn't easy to do with just restore cd's.
