Hey guys,

I am going to be building a new system in a few months and just wanted to see what you guys thought of it. I will be using air cooling for now but once I go SLI I will go down the watercooling route. Any recommendations are very welcome.

Parts:

Corsair Obsidian 800D
i7 4770K
Maximus VI Hero
Asus GTX 780 (reference or Direct CU depending)
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB
Corsair AX1200 (Overkill I know)
Samsung 840 120GB
Seagate 2TB 7200rpm drive
Corsair H100i
Windows 7 HP/Professional

What are your thoughts, and thanks in advance

Impressive.

I'd buy more RAM, e.g. 2x8 GB.

Make sure the Windows is 64-bit, not 32-bit.

DirectCU costs more than other flavors of the same card, but it's quieter. But then, if you intend to use watercooling, why pay extra for DirectCU...

Between Windows 7 Home Premium and Professional - Home Premium is limited to 16 GB of RAM, which may come back to bite you later. Other differences here:

Thanks. I agree about the RAM, but that's only because I want to keep the price down now and add 8GB more RAM at a later date (16GB plus won't be of use to me so windows 7 HP is fine). I know it seems trivial because I may go down the water cooling route but the DirectCU is red and black and the theme of my build is black and red (my favourite colours). I'm also using Bitfenix alchemy strips, AF120 red fans and Bitfenix cable extentions. Thanks for the reply :)
