Water Cooling 112 - Cases

Twelfth in a series of water cooling threads spurred by the recent uptick in questions on the topic..... see starter thread here:

Water Cooling 101 - Should I or Why Bother ?

This thread is obviously intended to focus on Cases for Water Cooling Builds, both teh obvious monsters from Case Labs as well as the more diminutive and everything else in between. Again, the THG Water Cooling Sticky is a great place to start.

This thread is intended as a spot to share ideas on the subject of Water Cooling Cases. Current thoughts:

Corsair 800D/900D - Overwhelming favoirites for the modding and WC communities. The 800 fits a 240 and a 360 rad and the 900D has up to 5 radiator mounting locations .... can even buy pre-assembled with WC components.

CM Cosmos II - The cosmos is CM's equivalent to the 900D and was used in the 2013 show mod here:

At the hi end ya have Case Labs which has been used in some real extreme WC builds .... this one might be considered "Geek Porn"

Phanteks Ethnoo Primo - A new arrival if ya can call it that was due to be released in US in early September. Now talking 1st week in October. Best way to get an idea of the options this case offers is watch the H2O Possibilities video here:

I use a LAN case (Qpack 2) and found it difficult to fit high performance air coolers into the case. I used low profile air coolers but they did help with my overclocked I7-2600k (4.6 ghz). I decided to try water cooling and the Cooler Master Seidon 120M works great for me in this small case. The install was very simple. I did reorient my fans. Front fans blow out rather than in. The rear 120mm fan also blows in. The radiator and external 120mm fan blow through the rear 120mm. My temps are now from 10 to 18 degress Celsisus! I wish I had done this long before.
