Even if I use zip locks to secure it ?

The Noctua NH-DH14 is better, though I don't think it's worth replacing it if you already have the Hyper 212.

Not necessarily. It may be quieter, but it will produce less pressure to do that. It depends on the model too as they run at different rpms. What sort of difference are you looking for? There are a few website in which 120mm fans were compared on radiators and heatsinks. I run my 212 EVO with push/pull config with Coolermaster EVO fans. I have tried dozens of different models too, but for me, they work the best.

Still - price isn't worth the upgrade. The Hyper 212 is a very good cooler!
I'd save the money for a more significant upgrade.

How far did you OC your system?
If not by much - I still see no reason to replace the Hyper 212. It's really great!

Give the Noctua to a friend / sell it to someone. Will be best

Yes the Noctua NH-D14 is quieter when they are both running on full throttle.
On idle the 212 tends to be quieter.

The difference between them isn't very big.

I am confused. Do you want to replace the whole Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO unit with another heatsink and fan combo by Noctua, or did you want to just replace the stock fan, on the Cooler Master heat sink, with one that is Noctua?

The Noctua fan, no matter what model, will probably be quieter at full tilt. You probably won't realistically notice an appreciable difference at 1200 RPM and below. The Noctua fan might have lesser performance (at full tilt).

If you have both fans on hand, get a hold of prime95 and Core Temp, and do some tests! (Even better, share the results with us!)

Go for it. Can't hurt to try. Watch your temps in Core Temp at full load (all cores/threads). If temps are okay, you're good. If not, switch it back.
Yes, Noctua's build quality is probably the best on the market, but brown, really? Not for me.

All I did was replace the fan with a noctua 92mm

And I was using a MORE intensive CPU, the 8120 ! vs the x 635 which I replaced.

Wow, so a more intensive cpu and the results are STILL lower. amazing.
