Hi,
I want to buy a new heat sink for my CPU don't know what I should look for.
Is the most important spec to look for?
Is it the RPM or airflow?
Also, what is the airflow of the average stock AMD cooler?

Solution
I have used the arctic cooler 11 before and it is about the same as the AMD cooler with heatpipes, that I believe came with the FX series, its still just rated for 95W. The Deepcool HSF review is here http://us.hardware.info/reviews/4312/6/6x-deepcool-cpu-cooler-review-strong-newcomer-test-results-socket-1155-95-watts it is not a good buy.

If you are looking for a cheap and good cooling http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103064 only $20 and 20 degrees cooler than the Deepcool at 95W.

DO NOT GET THE GAMMA ARCHER....

Hi, what are you looking for in a cooler? Are you overclocking and need very good cooling or are you looking for a quiet running system? The best way to find a good cooler is to compare reviews you cannot tell by the specs they give you on store sites. As an inexpensive cooler I start with a Hyper 212EVO its cheap and works very good, I went with a 300W Silverstone Heligon 1 cooler that weighs over a Kilo but it keeps my overclocked Ivy nice and cool. If you want to spend more $$$ you can go with a closed water loop like the Corsair H80i.

The stock AMD cooler is not very good. Important specs to look for are WEIGHT (air cooling bigger is better), fan size (120mm,140mm), noise, search for reviews comparing different coolers here on Toms.

Hi and thanks for the reply. The Hyper 212 EVO is a good cooler but I'm not going to overclock. I don't really care about noise. I just want a cooler under $20 that's going to keep CPU cooler than the stock heat sink.
I found 2 I like:

Can you please tell me which of the two is better? They are about the same price.
Thanks.
