Hi,

I've got a Gigabyte Z77 DS3H motherboard. I went into Qflash to update the BIOS (this is accessed from POST). I decided to save the old BIOS version to 'Mass storage device' as a backup of previously working BIOS. After selecting that, the saving progress got stuck at 9%. A warning came up, saing "Not able to save BIOS file successfully". I now can't move my mouse to navigate out of this message. Do I turn the computer off, or will that completely mess things up? What do I do?

Thanks for any answers, please answer quickly because I am stuck on this screen.

It sounds to me you're stuck saving the backup so you haven't flashed anything yet so you might be ok. It's when you're in the actually overwriting part that if you become stuck you're screwed unless your board has a dual BIOS. That's my take on it anyway so before you do anything else I'd want for some additional replies.

I want to add also looking up the specs on your board it looks like you have dual BIOS's so if you happen to screw one up you can fall back to the backup.

Thanks for this. I forgot about the dual BIOS! I went ahead and just pressed the power button on my computer. It rebooted fine, and then I updated the BIOS successfully.
