I upgraded my Laptop to have Windows 7 Professional but after some time its taking up too much resources to run half the time and any online videos get skippy and I know it isnt my web browser because I use Chrome for everything. So I put in my Windows 2000 installation disc to try to format and go back to like Windows 7 Home but when it starts up the disc and loads up the files but then it pretty much freezes when it says starting Windows 2000 setup or something of that sort. I don't have the money to upgrade my PC in any sort and this is pretty much my only way to have a smoother "experience".

Just because you have a Windows 2000 disk lying around does not mean that is a good choice.

It is a 13 year old OS. You will have many, many problems getting it to run anything current.
And it is very possible the physical disk you have is damaged.

1. I do not have the disc to check
2. I most likely tried that already seeing as it isn't done yet.

That is a possibility. My process would have been down to Windows 2000 then to Windows XP cause it is only an upgrade disc and won't let you do a fresh install. and use the Windows 7 disc to go to Home Edition.
