What is the best frame rate software for windows 8?

Hey guys,

looking for some advice on the best frame rate software so I can run my games optimally. I've heard the ideal minimum is around 60..

Anyways Im new to all this pc gaming stuff so I could really use the help from the experts around here. Im using windows 8 and Im not sure if FRAPS works for that. I originally posted this on the windows 8 forum but didn't receive an replies so Im going to try my luck here. Thank you in advance!

Measuring frame rate is not benchmarking. It is perfectly safe. It just says how many FPS you are getting while playing a game. It doesn't affect anything at all.

Yes MSI afterburner will let you monitor temps while gaming.

Yes, that's correct and thanks. Ill try MSi afterburner I think first. And this is probably a really stupid question ( people here don't usually judge though lol) but measuring frame rate is perfectly safe right? Because I've heard that benchmarking can actually damage systems, but Im guessing that's because it cranks your components to the highest they can go which can overhead things.

And then lastly if you have the time is will MSi afterburner let me gauge my gpu temps and look at them while Im gaming? Because currently to measure my temps I basically check my evga precision x software right after gaming for a number of hours. I guess Im just wondering if theres a more efficient way.
