I actually plan to install a custom water loop, but I feel like the 3770k would just be a safer route for temps even know I'm water cooling. I heard haswell runs hot, and what do I need the new socket for ? How will I benefit from it. I read its only like a 5% performance increase from the older ivy bridge

I got this monitor about 2 weeks ago (it was 110 then) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009316 unless youre dead set on 24" its almost equivalent to the one you listed for less.

samsung 840 Pro 256gb is a much better SSD for just a little bit more http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=77219&vpn=MZ-7PD256BW&manufacture=Samsung%20Memory%20%26%20Storage&promoid=1368

Not sure about windows home so someone else will have to answer that but the rest of it looks good.

if this is a game rig then you dont need to worry about which quad core you have for the most part because they're all about even in game.

Yeah I heard the Samsung ssd's are better. And I'm pretty dead set on that monitor unless someone convinces me to buy a 2560x1440p monitor

Well if ya shying away from IB because it runs hotter than HW, then you shud get SB cause IB runs way hotter than SB.

IB and SB are over .... end-of-life products. While I certainly see no reason to go out and upgrade from SB/IB to HW, investing in out of production parts certainly puts a damper on system life and upgrade ability

You went w/ all top end manufacturers except for the MoBo.....

$300 - Asus Maximus VI Formula

$210 Asus Maximus VI Hero

$185 MSI Z87-GD65

Thats a comparison of the Asus and BenQ2411 (both 144 Hz) ... Asus came out on top

Dunno where ya can buy it but there's a WB for the Asus GFX card (WB - EK-FC780 GTX DCII - Nickel / Backplate - EK-FC780 GTX DCII Backplate
http://www.ekwb.com/news/387/19/New-water-block-for-ASUS-DC2-series-GeForce-GTX-780-released/

Bug case for just one GFX card ..... if ya thinking of adding one later.... will need bigger than 850 watter.

500GB is teeny by todays standards ... wud suggest $136 7200.14 - $135 for 3TB

if ya wanna save money....new Enthoo case is $100 less and will easily fit ya components

The 900D just seems awesome for temperatures and upgrade room. And I was kind of thinking about going with the MSI lightning 780? But it's actually really expensive and seems possibly overkill considering I'm just a gamer/streamer

My dream PC :) This guy is what made me choose ivy bridge over haswell. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FWni_BXmSn8. You gotta skip abit into the vid to see the PC

Just noticing that some Z77 MoBos no longer available on newegg .... warranty replacements will be Z87

His logic in June may be OK as to why he bought the IB.....but it was RELEASE DAY when everybody wants and will pay a premium .... right now they are the same price or within $10-$20. He then argues its only 5-10% improvements but why pay virtually the same for 5-10% less ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_325141565&feature=iv&src_vid=FWni_BXmSn8&v=iHQqpIEw7jk

i gotta agree with the commenters......as well as his own comments, his WC setup is "way overkill" ....for one GPU ???? he needs two 2 x 120 rads. For what he "overspent" he cuda had a watercooled system/ two 780s

As for dreams, you need to dream bigger :)

That link was pretty sick. Honestly I just want a beast gaming rig that I can game/stream with @ 1080p. I want to go custom water cooling for silence (I'm a noise freak) and to maximize the life span of my hardware. I'm thinking single gpu is the way to go which is why I chose the 780 but I'm not sure which one i should get. You should come up with a PC part picker bud for me :). Budget for hardware being 2000-2500$
