Sorry for my very poor english.
I have been reading for 2 days to try to get an idea of this and I dont know what is the best for me.

My house are 2 constructions (1 floor) with a 30 meters distance between each other.

Now I have a terrible chinese router(zte) on my room.
My father lives on the other construction and the internet is so slow for him, really slow.

I got a good speed on my room, but I need to give my father a fast speed or at least decent.

Please recommend some wifi router for us.

We need a good 30 meters coverture. With a 100-150 dollars budget.
We have Windows 7,8.

Thanks in advance!

Yes but theres only grass between constructions.

I saw the Netgear router, in the comparisons table that NETGEAR WNDR3700 has only 3 bars on the Wifi range category.
You think it will be ok?
The last 2 routers in the table have 5 bars, that`s scare me.

I will buy it, if someone gives me the ok.

Thanks for answering!

There is very little difference between routers. All transmit at the legal maximum power which means they all have very similar range. Most the recommendations and test results are related to those unique situations and will not represent your house. The only results that actually matter are at the FCC site where they must produce standard reports. You can look up any device on the FCC site with the ID off the sticker on the device or if you want to dig you can find them just with company names. What you will see is the output never exceeds the legal amount and in fact almost always is exactly at the legal max.

So buying a different routers will likely make no difference at all. Since you cannot relocate the router in the middle then most common solutions are not going to work. Even a repeater will not work since that too would be placed in the middle which is outdoors. Now if you could place something outdoors you might get a solution. The simplest option is to run a cable from your current router to outside the wall of your side place a outdoor AP. If that still does not work your could place outdoor bridges on both sides.

The other common solution to use powerline network equipment to solve this may also not work if the electricity is not really shared between the buildings.
