So with the help of some friends, I bought and built a new pc that I use now mostly for gaming purposes. I've had it for about a week now and its froze on me twice so far, basically the screen freezes and I can't move my mouse or type anything and I am forced to manually turn it off, my friend said that it is possible that something is wrong with my ram so I pulled one of my sticks out (I have two) to see if that will help. Any other reasons why this would be happening or could it just be my ram? Help would be greatly appreciated as my knowledge on computers is very very limited. :]

My parts are the following:
Intel Core i5 3570k
Kingston hyperx 2x4gb DDR3 ram
ASUS p8z77-vlk motherboard
EVGA geforce gtx760 superclocked
windows 7 64 bit

Sorry, I am not sure what to look for in Event Viewer. also I am not familiar with memtest86 and OCCT, like I said my knowledge is unfortunately very limited when it comes to this kinda of stuff

In Event Viewer .... anything that ways Warning or Eroor
Memtest86+ + OCCT .... they are simple, programs, download them follow the instructions

OCCT - Hi temperatures (> 75C) and voltage variations > 5% are a bad thing
memtest tells you if you have memory problems
