New Hanns G monitor cant get sound from the monitor Built-in Speakers

I went and got me a new monitor, heres a link : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254113

the graphic card i have is Gigabyte AMD HD 7870

I went and tried different options to try and get it to work but nothing so far.

"important note" I'm using HDMI connection

Did you set the AMD HDMI Output as the default playback device under Playback(not recording) under SOUND(start search "sound")?
After this setting programs "may" need to be restarted to get sound to work.

Can you please ensure the AMD drivers are up to date. The ATI HDMI AUDIO should show as plugged in for sure(that would be the one you want to make default).

You can try the drivers from Realtek for AMD Audio(ATI HDMI Audio Device R2.70)

It should have shown as connected. If not, you will NEVER be able to get audio from it(and thus your screen).

since i couldn't get it to work with the HDMI i swapped over to the DVI-I connector and the audio cable and it works. cant get it to work with HDMI with the computer but it works with PS3 so strange. but i got it to work. so im fine with it. thank you for the help
