xbox 360 controller installing as headset.

Hey guys, I recently bought a wireless gaming receiver to play games on my PC with Xbox 360 controllers. I connected 3 controllers just fine, but when I connect this one controller the PC says "installing device software" then says "Xbox 360 headset installed" but it is my controller with no headset attached to it. Anyone know how to fix this?

Are all of the XBox Controllers Microsoft branded? And is the receiver a Microsoft brand or off brand? I have heard of off brand receivers not working correctly is why I ask. I have 4 controllers setup on mine but they are all Microsoft branded and so is the usb receiver.
