What is the best red and black motherboard for $240 or less other than the Z77 Sabertooth (I am aware that it is not red and black, but it is still pretty cool)?

That's an easy one - mine - the Asus Maximus VI Hero - $220, went through right at 20 builds on Haswell before deciding on it, paired it with the 4770K, CM V8 GTS, and 32GB of 2666 Tridents

Would you say it's better than the Z87 Sabertooth, about the same, or better. The Maximus VI Hero looks ****ing awesome.

Unless they drop the price of the Maximus VI Formula by $60, Id have t say the $220 Maximus VI Hero with it getting the edge over the GD-65 for the sound system.

This is what I show to peeps who walk in with MoBo choice dilemmas .... prolly have to hit reply and cut paste as THG's new format truncates long url's

I compared it with the Sabertooth, and saw nothing compelling there, the Tuf panels don't really do anything for me, the builds I did ranged from the Extreme and the Sniper on down to the Rock Extreme 3 or so, it appears to be compatible with most anything, I test DRAM , GPUs, Drives, etc with it and it's taken everything, OCs well I'm at 4.6 and hoping to get to 4.8 (if I ever get any free time)
