Wireless drops out when other devices present

Hi all

I have a Billion 7300G wireless router. My devices (Windows Vista laptop, Samsung Galaxy S3) work fine wirelessly, except when my housemate is home. As soon as she is home, my devices drop in and out constantly. They stay connected to the router, but largely without internet access. She has an iPhone, iPad and Macbook.

The router firmware is up to date. I've tried assigning static IPs to my devices, keeping them outside the range of the Billion's DHCP, but it made no difference. Additionally, occasionally when I turn on my Galaxy's wireless it won't connect and shows an authentication error. It definitely has the correct password, and eventually does connect. Again this is only when my flatmate is home.

I should also say that she reports no problems with her devices. Also I can connect via ethernet no problem.

I've also used WiFi Analyzer to find the best channel, and I've disabled IPv6.

The wireless signal is fine, it's always strong. Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Bit of a long shot, but it could be that she is using 802.11b (although unlikely if she is using new Apple products).
Check them over to make sure her devices are using 802.11g.

The reason why I mention 802.11b, is because if only one 802.11b device uses your network, ALL devices will use that speed (up to 11Mbps theoretical - probably realistically up to 5Mbps). You can set your router to use 802.11g only within the wireless settings (select g only rather than b+g)

Cheers for the responses!

@MartinWilson I set the router to "g" only for the last 24 hours, no dice I'm afraid.

@Davidchase big fan of your tv shows man. I've used a bunch of different channels over the past few months (this has been going on for a while). Started around 2, moved to 6, and have been on 11 for a month or so, as WiFi Analyzer shows that's the furthest away from any interference. No difference unfortunately.

Anything else?

Thanks again.
