sony recovery without data loss

I have sony vaio model sve14a15fn with window 7 installed.I also created recovery disc, my brother installed window 8 on it but i want my window 7 back without any data loss. Is it possible by using recovery disc.

Your Recovery Disk will only bring the machine back to the state is was when you brought it home from the store. it does not have your personal data from the Windows 7 installation.

Look on the hard drive for a folder called Windows.old. Depending on how your brother installed Win8, it may be there, and has your previous data.

If it's not there, you might try any of the free data recovery tools. But I wouldn't hold out much hope.
