Burning hot voltage regulator

Hi just now i dismantled my laptop and i plugged in the AC adaptor and i felt voltage regulator was so hot it burned my fingers? Now i cannot power on my laptop. What happened there? My laptop is acer aspire 4736z. Voltage regulator model is ene kb926qf

LOL what is it then? SOrry i am a noob here. Can you tell me what happened? Any help would be very much appreciated:)

Thanks for replying. I have put everything together but still I cant power on my laptop. So i guess my motherboard is somehow fried. :(
