Hi

I'm pretty new to the PC world and I recently bought a half decent starter pre built PC (kit details to follow) I've kind of got the bug a little, I've bought a new case (CM Scout 2) I thought it would make sense make sure all failable major components are looked at while I'm moving it all to the new case. My main query is my PSU - can't find a great deal about it online but it is a Silenzo LPK16-600w, it seems to cope quite well and so far not had any problems. A friend keeps telling me it's cheap rubbish, replace it ASAP, but do I really need to? Is it worth investing £60/£70 on a new PSU at this stage?

Current kit is

Asus F2A85-M motherboard
AMD A10-5800k
Additional GPU - Asus HD6670 (added by me)
and the Siolenzo LPK16-600w The PSU

I was looking at is the Corsair GS700 (2013 edition) I was also looking at upgrading the heatsink (either the Enermax ETS-T40-TB or Xigmatek Dark Knight) I have a max budget of £100 - or is there something else I should be looking to upgrade?

Predominant use is gaming, any advise would be much apreciated

Many thanks,

Dan

based on that set up .. it seeeeems like the psu would be okay because its not such a demanding system. but i still agree with your friend, its much better to buy something that is well known, like antec or corsair or seasonic

if your psu fails .. it can take everything with it.. really the psu is the most important part of any computer .. so if you buy a new one i would reccommed it is 80+ bronze at the least but if you can afford to get a silver or above then do so ... if you get like a 450w - 500w silver your away laughing, just make sure it has over 17amps on the 12v rail as thats what your gpu needs
